Kick Butts Day 2007

The Comprehensive Tobacco Control Program Partners recently held their annual Kick Butts Day celebration at Cass Park in Woonsocket. The event was part of a national movement to prevent youth tobacco use, promote smoking cessation and raise awareness on current budget cut proposals in Rhode Island to prevention programs. This year the event featured a kick-ball tournament along with some additional activities for spectators that included a moon bounce, music and T-shirt decorating. The five-hour event, which is part of the RI Tobacco Control Program activities, attracted over 150 community members as well as news coverage from ABC 6, the Woonsocket CALL and The Valley Breeze. Guest Umpires for the games included the Captain of the Woonsocket Police Department, Edward Lee, Architect Chris Carcifero and Providence-based Little League Coach Raymond Vargas.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the 12th Annual Kick Butts Day.
