Cessation News:
The Department of Health (HEALTH) issued and awarded JSI Research and Training Institute a request for proposal (RFP) for the RI Smokers Resource Center, which includes telephone counseling to be provided in-house.  Quality Partners of Rhode Island provided introductory and clinical trainings to hospitals and community health centers statewide. HEALTH staff partnered with the Rhode Island Community Health Center Association and was successfully awarded a Health Resources and Services Administration grant to address tobacco use and cessation in community health centers statewide. As part of this collaboration, HEALTH drafted an RFP for tobacco treatment services for the uninsured in Rhode Island.
